Bottoming is a skill. This is obvious in the difference between a bottom who is looking to have their first BDSM experience and an accomplished bottom with many play sessions under their belt. Playing with them is enjoyable and fulfilling. So, how exactly are these skilled bottoms different?
We believe they possess a combination of the following attributes:
Their play is what they truly desire: they're fully in touch with their kinky selves and they are completely immersed in their play.
They know what they want/need and can clearly communicate it.
They are active participants before, during, and after play.
They know and can articulate what they bring to the table.
They are intentional with the risks they take.
They know how to identify the right tops for them.
They embrace conflict as a necessary tool for improving themselves and their relationships.
They take ownership of their recovery process after a bad experience.
They know how to hold space for tops to be human and make mistakes.
They know how to seek out, attract, or cultivate the community that’s right for them.
Join us as we explore the magic that skilled bottoms have mastered. We will discuss the foundational skills that every bottom should have. We will also help you discover the skills you already have, share suggestions for how to gain additional skills, and describe how to develop your skills further.
