Ronnie and Dani are patient, skilled and relaxed instructors. Tying seems simple from the outside, but there are many complexities. They are able to break these down while explaining the “why” in a way that is approachable and gratifying to even an absolute novice. As a student their passion for making rope accessible comes through in this class! It did not treat D/s as there is only one way to do D/s. I am taking away that it can be a pick and choose what works. The warnings about what can go wrong (pitfalls).
Providing an actual guide and structure to creating a variety of dynamics. As a non-monogamous switch it gave me many considerations between who is a D/s play partner vs a D/s dynamic partner.
What I liked was a good portion of the class was ideas that my partner and I are already doing but it made me think of ways that I can improve our dynamic that I didn’t think about before or even know to ask for.
The clear structure, helpful & detailed explanation of concepts & then very well laid our plan on how to setup & maintain the dynamic. Also appreciated the personal examples interspersed that made things clearer.
A huge amount of kink to me feels like walking through a dense fog. Structures like the ones outlined here feels like having a map or recipe.
I found it really helpful when the same words verbatim were used to describe the steps as they were done for different ties. It is something I will repeat in my head moving forward. I also really liked getting to choose my own tie at the end so everyone can get what they want out of the class if levels vary.
I enjoyed the building blocks —> composition of the building blocks progression. Also the instructors helping and providing feedback/tips aw we were practicing.
Instructors not only demonstrated ties, they also explained tips for handling rope that pictures don’t convey. Printouts were very helpful.
The structure and pacing was really good. Lecture, demo, test, regroup is a great way to do a rope class.
I enjoyed learning the history of Shibari. Class was very informative of the building blocks of rope.
