What is the bottom’s part in play? Are they passively receiving whatever the top does to them? If not, then what is it exactly that skilled bottoms do that makes them get more out of their play and makes playing with them more rewarding for their tops?

There are many narratives around the kink scene about us bottoms. Narratives that take power and agency away from us. When we hear again and again that we are just receiving play, we tend to start believing it. When we believe it, we stop participating.

Play is a collaborative activity. It is not something tops do to bottoms. It is something that tops and bottoms do together. In this class we dig into many practical skills that bottoms can use before, during, and after play to be an active part of the experience.

We will dive into skills like:

  • Educating yourself on safety information about the play you like

  • Driving your pre-play discussions

  • Affecting the play mood and your play partner before and during play

  • Communicating and enforcing your boundaries

  • Giving clear, kind, and actionable feedback

  • Driving productive debriefs

Join us as we dive into the play skills that lead to rewarding play experiences.
