Class Consent Cards
We wrote in the past about better ways to get consent from class attendees than to ask them directly “can I touch you?”.
Since then, we saw a very good implementation of the practice we described at a class at @SubSpaceSeattle taught by @blushofalush and @subtly_mean.
After we checked in, @Arcane_Shae handed us a double-sided card. One side was green and had some text like “it’s OK to touch”, and the other side was red and had text like “not OK to touch”. We loved it so much that we created our own and we’ll be using them in our classes.

They are the size of business cards. The idea is that the class attendee can put it somewhere visible with their chosen side showing. This way, the educator only asks about specific things they can demo on the attendee if the green side is up, and the attendee can change their mind as many times as they wish during the class.
If you are an educator and you don’t want to go through the hassle of getting your own cards printed, please get in touch with us and we will donate some to you to use them in your classes.
